Hello, family. This is Omar Calvillo with this Week's from Wrong to Strong Devotional. Before we break this passage down, let's read it together first so we can hear the full thought in context. Proverbs chapter three, verses three and four. Never let loyalty and kindness leave you. Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation. Now, let's go back and walk through what Solomon is saying here. He begins with a clear instruction. Never let loyalty and kindness leave you. That tells us these are not occasional behaviors. They are qualities meant to shape who we are consistently over time. Let's start with loyalty. Biblical loyalty is faithfulness. It's remaining steady when circumstances change, it's staying committed. When relationships are tested, it's choosing to stand firm when walking away would be easier. Scripture shows us that faithfulness is part of God's character. Lamentations three verses 22 to 23 say, the faithful love of the Lord never ends. Great is his faithfulness. God does not abandon his people when they stumble. He remains faithful. Even when we fall short. And when loyalty shapes our lives, we reflect that same faithfulness to others. We become people others can trust. Not because we never fail, but because we don't quit. Solomon then pairs loyalty with kindness. Kindness in scripture is not weakness, it's strength guided by love. Kindness is choosing patience when frustration feels justified. It's choosing grace when retaliation feels deserved. Ephesians 4:32 tells us, be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another just as God through Christ has forgiven you. That verse reminds us that our kindness is not based on how others treat us. It's rooted in how God has treated us. Because we receive mercy, we extend mercy because we've been forgiven. We choose compassion and forgiveness. Solomon then gives us a picture. Tie these qualities around your neck. Write them on your heart. In other words, let loyalty and kindness be visible in how you live and deeply rooted in who you are. And then he shows us the result. Favor with God, respect with people, and a good reputation. Proverbs 22 verse one reinforces this truth when it says, A good reputation is more valuable than costly perfume. In a world where loyalty is rare and kindness is fading, these qualities still matter. They build trust, they strengthen relationships, and they quietly point people to the God we serve. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for your word. Thank you for showing us that loyalty and kindness reflect your own heart. Write these qualities deep within us so they shape how we live. Speak and respond. Use our lives to reflect your faithfulness and your grace. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. This is Omar Calvillo, and through Jesus Christ, I've gone from wrong to strong.
