Week #51 - 2-Minute Devotional w/ Omar Calvillo
Christmas is more than a baby in a manger, it’s the beginning of God’s rescue mission. In this special Christmas devotional, Omar reflects on the birth of Jesus and the meaning behind His name: Jesus - Yeshua - Yahweh saves. Before the miracles, the sermons, or the cross, His mission was clear: to save His people from their sins.
This message points us back to the heart of Christmas, God stepping into human history, becoming Immanuel, God with us, to bring hope, forgiveness, and new life. As you celebrate, be reminded that sin has an answer, hope has a name, and His name is Jesus.
Merry Christmas from From Wrong to Strong Ministries.

Merry Christmas everyone. This is Omar Calvillo with this week's two minute devotional. Today, we don't just celebrate a baby in a manger. We celebrate a savior sent from heaven. Christmas is not ultimately about lights, gifts, or even family traditions. It's about God stepping into human history, wrapped in flesh to rescue what was lost. The birth of Jesus is the beginning of God's great rescue mission. Matthew 1 21 tells us something crucial about why Jesus was born. She will give birth to a son and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. before Jesus ever walked on water, before he preached a sermon, before he went to the cross, his mission was already clear. Jesus was born to save. His name. Jesus means the LORD is salvation. In Hebrew, it's the name Yeshua. Which means Yahweh is salvation. It doesn't mean the LORD inspires not that the LORD improves, but that the LORD saves. That tells us something important about our condition. We didn't just need advice. We didn't need motivation. We needed rescue from our sin. Luke chapter two verses 10 through 11. Record the angel's announcement to the shepherds. Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people today in the town of David, a savior has been born to you. He is the messiah, the LORD. Notice the words Savior, Messiah, LORD, this child wasn't born to take a throne in Rome. But to take away the sin of the world. Isaiah had foretold his centuries earlier for to us, a child is born to us, a son is given, and he will be called Wonderful counselor. Mighty God, everlasting Father, prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6. Jesus is fully God, and yet he entered the world in complete humility. Born in the manger, laid where animals fed, approachable, near and gentle. Why? Because God wanted to be with us. Matthew 1:23 says They will call him Immanuel, which means God with us. Christmas reminds us that God did not remain distant from our pain. Our sin or our brokenness, he stepped right into it. The manger points forward to the cross. The wood of the cradle foreshadows the wood of Calvary. Jesus was born to die so that we could truly live, and that's why Christmas is such good news this Christmas. The question isn't simply, do you believe Jesus was born? The real question is, Have you received Him as Savior? John 1:12 says, yet, to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. Jesus came to save his people from their sins, personal, real, and present. That includes you and that includes me. As you celebrate today, let your heart rest in this truth. God kept his promise. A savior has been born, sin has an answer. Hope has his name and his name is Jesus Yeshua. I want to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and may the peace of Christ rule your heart today and always. My name is Omar Calvillo, and I am. Wrong. Too strong.
