From Wrong To Strong

Week #47 - 2-Minute Devotional w/ Nico Toscani

Nico Toscani

In this two-minute devotional, Nico walks us through Psalm 69 - one of King David’s most desperate cries for help. When the waters rise to his neck and the pit is about to close in, David shows us a powerful template for facing our own trials: humble yourself, cry out to God, trust His deliverance, and choose praise even in the darkest moments.
A short but impactful reminder that when life feels overwhelming, God remains our refuge, our strength, and our only true source of rescue.

I am Nico. Welcome to a Wrong and Strong two minute Devotional. Today I wanna go over Psalm 69. In this Psalm, king David gives a picture of a very desperate situation. And I believe within this psalm, there's a template on how we can deal with our desperate situations. So verse one, save me, oh God, for the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in deep mire. Where there is no standing. I've come into deep waters where the floods overflow me. I'm weary with my crying. My throat is dry. My eyes fail while I wait for my God. David's giving a picture of a very desperate situation. He's saying the waters have come up to my neck. He's, he's basically drowning. He said, I sink into deep mud. He's giving a picture of. Almost being immersed and sinking into quicksand where he's going down and he's stuck and there's no way out. In verse 14, he cries out to God. deliver me out of the mire and let me not sink. Let me be delivered from those who hate me. And out of the deep waters, let not the flood water overflow me, nor let the deep swallow me up. And letting out the pit shut its mouth on me. David's giving a picture of that. He's about to be enclosed in he, he's at the last moment, it's almost over. He's seeing the, like the pit's gonna clo about to close him in, and he's reaching out at that last moment. He's reaching out to God for his deliverance. He's acknowledging that his only help is gonna come from God, his only comfort and his only help, and he's reaching out to the one who can save him. That if we go down to verse 30, David gives a response that is oftentimes contrary to how we would like to handle a trying situation. I will praise the name of God with a song. I will magnify him with Thanksgiving. So despite the desperate situation, despite all the bad things, David's about to lose everything. It's about to be over. And yet he still offers God his praise and his thanksgiving. So I think from this we can get a template on how we could deal with our trying situations. David afflicted himself, he humbled himself, he acknowledged his sin. He cried out to the only one who could save him, and he only relied on God to save him, and despite the terrible situation. He offered God his praise and his thanksgiving, I hope we can get this template and, and use this in our own lives in response to our own trials. I'm Nico and I'm wrong to strong.
